Cancer prevalence is increasingly becoming alarming in Kenya, with conservative estimates having it that 80,000 persons are diagnosed with the disease every year, and 50 deaths recorded every passing day, in a country that is yet to fully invest in diagnosis and management of cancer. And this week, the country's focus turned on a previously ignored disease with the launch of the Africa Cancer Foundation on Tuesday. On our newsmakers segment, we tell you the story of a leader who has come out in the open about his being diagnosed with cancer. Besides, he has also come in the forefront in championing for increased government awareness and involvement. And just like other cancer victims, he still remains in their support system.
